Faith ruminates

My faith is central to my life, so what I write is often chilli-peppered with ruminations about God, why we are here and that kind of chewing the cud. I'm mindful that we're all work in process, figuring out our salvation daily - yet somehow the hope we have is secure. A profound mystery.

Hebrews 6 vs 19
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.

Also very familiar to me, in the midst of being in a friendship with this invisible God, in the midst of experiencing undeniable hope, is doubt which pops up in the most inconvenient moments. I love CS Lewis, who said, "If ours is an examined faith, we should be unafraid to doubt. If doubt is eventually justified, we were believing what clearly was not worth believing. But if doubt is answered, our faith has grown stronger. It knows God more certainly and it can enjoy God more deeply."

I firmly believe that God is not offended by our questions, and in fact invites us to reason with him (Isaiah 1 v 18)

As a wife of a Shepherd I'm sometimes asked to speak in our church. My preparations for these church discussions are often a treasure chest of discoveries about the heroes of the faith, as well as a deepening of my desire to keep chasing this Father of Heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows, yet can never be fully known or "captured".
